About- Acne, also known as acne vulgaris is a skin disease that occurs when hair follicles become plugged with dead skin cells and oil from the skin.

- Large painful lumps filled with pus beneath the skin
Causes-
Acne occurs when the pores on the skin become blocked with oil, dead skin, or bacteria

- Hair follicles clogged by oil and dead skin cells
- Bacteria build up in the pores
- Hormone levels change during puberty
- Heredity
- Certain medications, such as certain birth control pills or corticosteroids
- A diet high in refined sugars or carbohydrates, such as bread and chips
